Obehi Elizabeth Ekatah is a dual licensed lawyer in Nigeria and Canada. She received her first legal license to practice law in Nigeria in 2008.

Armed with the training and skills to act as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, she began her legal career practicing in various areas of the legal profession, from private practice to government establishments; from working with individual clients to businesses and corporate clients. Obehi actively practiced in Nigeria till
she relocated to Canada in 2018 with her family.

Upon arriving in Canada, Obehi continued her passion for law by registering and obtaining a legal assistant diploma from Robertson College in 2021. This enabled her to gain various experiences and understanding of the Canadian Legal System by working as a legal assistant with two (2) well grounded law firms in Alberta. After obtaining her Diploma, Obehi further applied for accreditation with the Federation of Law Societies of Canada, and successfully completed the NCA requirements in less than 6 months. After completing the NCA exams for foreign trained lawyers, Obehi registered as a Student-At-Law with the Law Society of Alberta and articled with a prestigious boutique law firm in Calgary, Alberta. She successfully completed all the Law Society of Alberta requirements for Bar Admission and was called to the Alberta Bar. In 2024, Obehi also completed her training and became a Certified International Privacy Professional of Canada with the designation of CIPP/C.

Obehi has worked in various capacities in the legal field, spanning more than 15 years in total. During this period, Obehi has been the recipient of various awards for her professionalism, dedication and work ethics.

Obehi is a devoted Christian, a mother to three beautiful children and a wife to an incredibly supportive husband. She is a community minded person who loves to serve and give back to the society through volunteering. She was a court volunteer with the Elizabeth Fry Society of Calgary until she began her articles and is currently a volunteer with the Calgary Legal Guidance. She also assists with the Legal Aid of Alberta Roster Program as well.

Obehi is a dynamic and resourceful individual who is passionate about the provision of access to justice initiatives targeted at the community.

In her spear time, Obehi enjoys hanging out with her family, particularly in the outdoors. She enjoys learning about history and the world, being around nature and listening to music. She is also a fun-loving person who loves to travel as well.
